Meeting a Need

Children and adults from isolated northern First Nation communities who need greater medical care than their own nursing stations can provide are airlifted to larger community hospitals. This might be on scheduled commercial airlines, for ongoing health concerns, or on emergency flights in specialized fixed wing air ambulances, where time is of the essence. Those who are severely ill or who need specialized treatment are flown to southern Ontario.

Service Area

Our service area has included patients airlifted from northern Ontario communities such as Pikangikum, Weagamow Lake, Cat Lake, Summer Beaver, Sioux Lookout, Dryden, and Thunder Bay.
We are able to care for patients arriving at Victoria Hospital, London, and Sick Kids, Toronto, but will gladly attend to patients at other hospitals in the London and Greater Toronto Area. We’ve also been able to minister to patients in Thunder Bay.
While our focus is
predominantly upon children and their families, we also serve adult patients as the need presents. Families are urged to contact us in advance for better care upon arrival.

Support

We’re grateful for your prayers. Should you wish to support our work financially, you can do so by sending your contributions to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (mailing address at the bottom of this page), or by going to St. Mark’s Canada Helps page. Earmark your donations to Living Hope Medevac.
